About

The Pilates Room has grown from a single studio space into a full Wellness Hub, now offering naturopathy, podiatry, massage therapy and osteopathy alongside Pilates. Our experienced instructors lead a welcoming studio where every client is valued and they provide personalised, supportive guidance to help you move better and feel stronger.

The Journey of The Pilates Room Cambridge

Pilates instructors

The Pilates Room Cambridge began in 2017, founded by Morag Gurnsey with a vision to create a space where the true Pilates Method could be practiced with care, expertise, and intention.

Morag wanted to create an environment that offered continuity of care - where Osteopathy, Podiatry and Physiotherapy could work alongside Pilates, with Meditation, Naturopathy and Massage Therapy also available in keeping with Joseph Pilates’ blueprint for health and a balanced lifestyle.

What started with a handful of mat classes for friends quickly grew as interest in quality, mindful movement deepened. Soon after, the Reformer was introduced, bringing a new level of precision and support to clients seeking to move better and feel stronger.

Over time, The Pilates Room evolved into a fully equipped, comprehensive Pilates studio - featuring not only Reformers, but the complete range of Pilates apparatus including the Cadillac, Stability Chair, Ladder Barrel and more. This expansion allowed us to honor the complete Pilates Method, just as Joseph Pilates intended - offering truly individualised movement experiences for all bodies and all stages of life.

As the studio grew, so did our space. We now operate across two beautiful studio rooms and a welcoming waiting lounge, providing a calm environment where clients can pause and take a breath before Pilates and catch up socially after their sessions.

Today, our boutique studio offers both one-on-one sessions and small group classes, led by a skilled team committed to a collaborative approach to whole-body wellness. We remain grounded in our original mission: to deliver intelligent, purposeful movement in a supportive and professional environment where each person's needs are known and met.
